If your child starts secondary school in September 2027, apply for a school place by Saturday 31 October.

Get urgent help with food, heating or essential furniture after an emergency.
Our Local Welfare Support scheme can help if something unexpected happens and you have no other way to pay for essentials.
What we can help with
- food and energy top-ups in an emergency
- essential furniture and appliances, such as a bed, cooker or fridge, if you're setting up a home after being homeless, leaving care or fleeing domestic abuse
We do not give cash. We give vouchers, prepayment top-ups or arrange for items to be delivered.
Who can apply
You must be 16 or over, live in Knowmoor, and have no savings or other way to pay. You can usually get help up to twice in 12 months.
