Council tax reduction can lower your bill if you're on a low income or claim benefits. You can get it whether you own your home, rent or are unemployed.

Who can get it

You may be able to get council tax reduction if you:

  • live in Knowmoor and pay council tax
  • have savings of less than £16,000 (this does not apply if you get Pension Credit)

How much you get depends on your income, savings and who lives with you.

What you'll need

  • your council tax account number
  • details of your income, savings and any benefits
  • details of anyone who lives with you
