If your child starts secondary school in September 2027, apply for a school place by Saturday 31 October.

Check which day your bins are collected and which bin goes out each week.
Your bins are collected on the same day each week. Recycling and general waste are collected on alternate weeks. Food waste is collected every week.

You'll need your postcode.
When to put your bins out
- Put your bins out by 6:30am on your collection day.
- Leave them at the edge of your property, where it meets the pavement, with the lid closed and handles facing the road.
- Bring them back in by the end of the day.
Bank holidays
Collections are usually one day later than normal in the week of a bank holiday. Check your bin day before you put your bins out.
Check if collections are running as normal
Bad weather, roadworks or strikes sometimes stop us collecting. When this happens, we show it on your bin day results and on our service updates page, with what to do instead. Usually you can leave your bin out and we'll collect it the next day, or put extra bags out next time.

If your bin was not collected
Wait until the end of your collection day, then report a missed bin collection.
