You must register any business that sells, cooks, stores, handles, prepares or delivers food, including businesses run from home, market stalls and food vans.
When to register
Register at least 28 days before you start trading. It's free, and cannot be refused.

What happens next
We'll contact you to arrange your first food hygiene inspection, usually within 3 months of you starting to trade. After it, you'll get a food hygiene rating.
