We inspect places that sell or serve food, such as restaurants, takeaways, shops and schools, and give them a food hygiene rating from 0 to 5.

Tell us if you've found something in your food, think food made you ill, or have seen dirty or unsafe conditions.

Keep the food and its packaging and receipt if you can. If you think you have food poisoning, contact your doctor or call NHS 111.

What happens next

We'll contact you within 5 working days. We may visit the business and test the food.

You must register your food business at least 28 days before you start trading.
